Watch our Online Workers' Memorial Day Observation

On April 28, MassCOSH held on online observation of International Workers' Memorial Day to honor the Massachusetts workers who were killed, injured or made ill on their jobs in the past 12 months.

Traditionally held on the steps of the Massachusetts Statehouse, this year’s event was live-streamed on Facebook and included a powerful reading of the names the 69 workers in Massachusetts lost their lives on the job in 2019 due to occupational injury and illness. The youngest worker killed was just 14 years old, the oldest was 83 years old. The event also included a tribute to workers who have passed away or become ill due to coronavirus-related complications.
