Celebrating Together

On May 9, MassCOSH had the pleasure to honor those who are leading the Massachusetts Labor Movement through an unprecedented time in its centuries-long history as part of its annual Celebrating the Movement fundraiser. Now in its forty-second year, Celebrating the Movement is a rare and special evening for those committed to progressive policies that expand good, safe jobs – the backbone of strong, healthy communities.

Guests and supporters were able to enjoy great food and drinks at IBEW Local 103’s union hall, while live music played and photos from MassCOSH’s various actions over the past year played on two massive projector screens. The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony, where MassCOSH had the honor of recognizing those on the front lines of the state’s Labor Movement.

Winners included: Public Policy Leadership Award Winner Francis (Frank) X. Callahan, Jr., President of the Massachusetts Building Trades Council; Labor Leadership Award Winner Jessica Tang, President of the Boston Teachers Union; Legal Champion Award Winner Sean C. Flaherty, Partner with the Keches Law Group, P.C.; and Young Worker Champion Award Winner Jessica Tavares, Teens Lead @ Work Alumnus.

The fundraising event plays a critical role in the fiscal health of MassCOSH. This year, MassCOSH supporters helped raise over $57,000 in the fight for good, safe jobs for all.
